Family History Search Engine : Specially tuned Google searchbox to look at relevant sites for local genealogy research on the Web.
Search Tips : If you are searching for a name or a phrase
ie. John Preston or Kirkby Top, put your phrase in quotes - "John Preston" this will make sure that you find John Preston and not just find pages which contain John and Preston in different parts of the text.
Remember also to try combinations of different spelling variants
and abbreviations, for example Serjeantson/Sargison or Jas for James.
Searching within a webpage seems to be a little known feature of web browsers. Once you have found a web page you are interested in, you can use your browser's built in search facility to find keywords wherever they appear on the webpage (this search is usually obtained by selecting the Edit menu, then the Find or Find on this page option).
Parish Record Search - Kirkby Malham & Surrounding Parishes : This search form allows you to look at the transcripts of the Baptisms & Marriages for Kirkby Malham and all the surrounding parishes, as transcribed in the FamilySearch online IGI records on the official Web site of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The search form simplifies the process of finding the correct records.
The entries in the IGI are mainly extracted from the Bishop's transcripts, or printed transcripts and the Kirkby Malham records include the YPRS transcript of the two early volumes of original parish registers for St Michael the Archangel.

Census Search Engine : Our PeopleFinder database will help you to locate individuals who were born or living in Malhamdaleand and who appear in the 1841-1901 census. Migration to and from the Dale during this period was quite high due to the cotton mills and changes in agriculture. This database can help you locate them if they were still living in England.
