The Serjeantson Deeds

Skipton Reference Library currently holds a number of documents, mainly land transactions, relating to the Serjeantson family of Hanlith, with many referring to their Malhamdale properties and including other local families. Unfortunately the index to the collection includes many references to documents that are no longer available, however the abstracts of the missing documents included in the index are still a useful aid in determining what documents may be available elsewhere, and the details the entries hold are interesting in themselves. In some cases this index entry to a missing document may be the only surviving information about a transaction, so it was considered worthwhile to include the complete index here.

There is a Glossary available with an explanation of some of the terms used in these old land deeds and other documents.
